Everyone must be feeling pretty stressed right about now with exams and this semester ending but there are loads of quick and easy OSAID campaigns your school can do that won't keep anyone too tied up this time of year! Also, in case you guys didn't know the Conference theme this year is WESTERN! Yee-haw! So, start getting your costumes ready and getting everyone in your OSAID chapter excited about Conference. A note to all Region 2 members there will be a bus taking delegates to Conference that starts out in Goderich at GDCI. If your school's delegates want to take advantage of that please e-mail me at region2@osaid.org or Tasha at region2associate@osaid.org to book the places.Finally, whenever an event happens at your school or in your community please e-mail me and Tasha and let us know what happened, who was involved, and how it went! Thanks guys, talk to you next time! posted December 16, 2011: Hey there Region 2! It's Beth and Tasha here again! Everyone excited for Christmas? I know we are! This time of year is always hectic and exciting but also very dangerous. Snow and weather conditions make driving even short distances extremely dangerous - add in all the Christmas parties that will be happening and the alcohol that will be consumed there and the outcome could be bad. So, let's all do our best to keep our family and friends safe this holiday season! Think about running a quick campaign next week before school lets out to make everyone aware of their safe ride home options. Have a happy holiday and enjoy the break from school! Contact Beth at region2@osaid.org posted November 14, 2011: Hello, Region 2! The recently held OSAID craft show in Goderich went extremely well and we raised a lot of money. We even had vendors renew their spot for next year before it was over !! We've rescheduled our Region 2 workshop for mid-January. It will be amazing so we need more time to organize speakers and more fun activities! There are plans to hold a mock crash/blackout day in the beginning of January in Goderich to show "during the holiday accident" as an awareness raising event. Looking for fundraising ideas? What about going seasonal and selling christmas cards, candles or gift wrap? Matt Evans will be giving the 'Meet the Challenge' presentation to schools in the Region - if you are interested in receiving one of these presentations at your school, click here! Finally, don't forget the value of an awareness raising event in your school in the run up to the Christmas holidays. Contact Beth. Contact Tasha posted October 20, 2011: Hey Region 2! Well the past month and half has been crazy with everything going on in OSAID and school starting up! Many schools have been in contact about possibly wanting to attend the OSAID Region 2 workshop me and Tasha are holding on November 17th! It is promising to be a fun filled day of activities and information! Even if your school does not have an OSAID chapter/club you are still invited to come out to our workshop and see what OSAID is all about. If your school is interested please e-mail us before October 27th so we have enough time to gather our numbers. The theme this year is 50's/Greasers and it'll be a great time! It's Beth and Tasha here! Well let me first start off by saying welcome back to school and I hope everyone is settling in okay. School can be a very busy time of year and it is important to make sure we manage our time wisely and don't get overwhelmed! OSAID is a great way to do something positive and fun as well as take your mind off some of the demands of school! As we start getting in to the school year myself and Tasha will be calling schools to see if any are interested in starting up an OSAID chapter. If you already know your school is interested in setting up a chapter don't posted August 15, 2011: Hey Region 2! It's Beth here, the new Rep for Region 2. ( Tasha, my Associate says, "Hi," too.) Summer is starting to end, and we're starting to think about getting back into the swing of school. I'm looking forward to calling all the regions schools in September and getting some new chapters started.
