posted November 7, 2011: Region 7 it has been full of positive energy and awesomeness. All Saints has planned a Penny Drive which is scheduled to start this week on Wednesday and we will be raising more money for  Conference - hope you are making your plans to attend! It's going to be a great event! Also,  All Saints has planned over 5 events and fundraisers to do this year!  Special mention goes to Pickering High which has also had an amazing OSAID start to the year -  they are planning  the following major  events -An assembly before Christmas and New year - Prom Assembly given by Students - Mocktail competitions and award at Prom -  Durham Regional Police message. Great awareness raising Pickering!

posted October 20, 2011: Something I think I should like to encourage for  the upcoming Halloween parties  to celebrate the scary season is to remind your guests that it is especially important to not drive impaired that night. There will be lots of pedestrians with  little  children  out that night taking part in  trick or treating.  Encourage your friends to take extra care to keep everyone safe that night and ask them to keep everyone  in mind when deciding how they are going to get home. They can take a taxi, call a sober friend or  call a parent. Encourage them to  just be smart  and make the right decision.

posted September 22, 2011:  Well,  OSAID seems to be going off to a somewhat sleepy start in Region 7 with all the  hustle and bustle of the new school year - or course, if you know better, get in touch and let me know what you've been up to!  Never fear,  that big things are planned for  OSAID in Region 7 this year, not to mention the very amazing Regional workshop I'm  planning!  Working on organizing groups and recruiting new ones  brings new  challenges and we all  need to work hard to over come them. I encourage every OSAID member to encourage others to take part and spread the message. I feel confident that this will be a year to remember. Finally, don't forget the OSAID Contest! Take care and remember, friends don't let friends drive impaired.

posted August 21, 2011.  It's not for sure certain but several people have contacted OSAID this summer and are going to try setting up new chapters. I encourage you to do the same in your school - I  want at least 7 more OSAID groups in Region 7. Hopefully,   we have enough groups that when I hold  the regional workshop they will fill the room.  So, needless to say, we're off to a good start and will continue to  grow as a Region.  I'm starting to look into planning our regional workshop and looking  through the manuals ( have you checked out the online Membership Manual?) and stuff so that's also starting to take off.  Have you checked out the OSAID contest? It's a chance to win either an iPod Nano or movie vouchers! Until next monthl!
