Join the youth of the world!  Ever seen this logo?  . The Youth Taskforce is comprised of young road safety leaders from around the world. The Youth Taskforce  members have worked  together ever since  the creation of YOURS - Youth for Road Safety.  Check out their website and watch for the September issue of OSAID Speaks which will have more information about this  global effort against impaired driving.

  The newest OSAID poster is on its way to schools. Watch for it!  The new posters are being sent  to all the Ontario secondary  schools with the Conference 2010 brochures.  The package should be arriving at your school from Feb 8 onwards. Watch for it.  Ask for it.  Post it.       Can't wait for the Conference Brochure to arrive? Full Conference details are available online now!

- posted January 2010 - Bursaries offered by MADD: " Over the past couple of years, through the generosity of our donors, MADD Canada has been able to offer a $2000 bursary to dozens of students across the country. The Bursary Fund is for Canadian students who have had a parent or guardian killed in an impaired-driving related crash and are pursuing any full time educational program that is approved by a provincial Ministry of Education. Bursaries of $2000 can be awarded to qualifying students across Canada.  If you know someone in your community or Chapter membership that is eligible for the bursary I would ask that you please forward this information to them. - posted December 18 - OSAID Director honoured: Ms Patti Beck, one of OSAID's Board of Directors was honoured today when she was awarded the Peter Wong  Memorial Award - a provincial award,  for commitment,  time, and motivation in the issue of impaired driving. -The OSAID Ambassador Program    Posted: Mon Jul 13     The OSAID Ambassador program is a Trillium Foundation sponsored program in the London, Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge areas.  An OSAID Ambassador is a single student in the school who works on a peer to peer basis to spread the message about the dangers of driving when impaired.  

Designed for schools who do not yet have a group of students who wish to form a chapter, the OSAID Ambassadorship  is an entry level program for community minded students.  The Ambassador Program Brochure  gives more information. Check it out!

-iDrive presentation in Thunder Bay  Posted: Thu Jun 04      OSAID is making a series of presentations in schools throughout the province to mark the launch of the newest iDrive DVD.   Hammarskjold High School in Thunder Bay was one of the first schools to see it. The DVD deals with the dangers of driving while distracted or impaired and concentrates on  the need to stay alert and focused on the task at hand  when behind the wheel.
